When you step aboard our Skeeter, you're in for a treat. This boat's not just a pretty face - it's a fish-finding machine. We've got top-of-the-line electronics that'll have us zeroing in on the hotspots faster than you can say "fish on!" We'll be using a mix of techniques depending on what's biting. Might be trolling for stripers, dropping lines for hybrids, or setting up for some catfish action. Don't worry if you're new to this - we'll walk you through everything. And hey, with a max of 3 guests, you'll get plenty of one-on-one time to pick up some new tricks.
Let's talk fish, folks. Striped bass are the heavyweights of the lake, known for putting up a fight that'll test your arms and your reel. These bad boys can hit 20 pounds or more - now that's a fish story worth telling! Hybrid stripers are like their cousins on steroids - they grow fast and fight hard. As for catfish, well, they're the gentle giants of the deep. But don't let that fool you - when they decide to bite, hold on tight! We use different tactics for each species. For stripers and hybrids, we might be using live bait or artificial lures, trolling or casting. Catfish? Sometimes it's as simple as a good old bottom rig with some stinky bait. No matter what we're after, you'll be in for a day of non-stop action.

Alright, let's dive into the stars of our show: striped bass, hybrid stripers, and catfish. Striped bass, or "stripers" as we call 'em, are like the marathoners of the lake. They're always on the move, chasing bait fish and giving anglers a run for their money. Spring and fall are prime time for these silver-sided fighters. They love to hang out near drop-offs and points, and when they hit your line, you'll know it!
Hybrid stripers are a whole different ballgame. These guys are a cross between striped bass and white bass, and they've got the best of both worlds. They grow faster than pure stripers and boy, do they like to eat! You'll find them schooling up, often busting the surface as they chase shad. Early morning and late evening are magic hours for hybrids.
Now, let's talk catfish. These whiskered wonders are the ultimate lake bottom dwellers. We've got channel cats, blue cats, and flatheads in these parts. They're not picky eaters, which makes them fun to target year-round. In the warmer months, you might find them in shallow flats, while they head to deeper holes when it cools down. There's nothing quite like the slow, steady pull of a big catfish taking your bait - it's a rush every time!
Well, folks, there you have it - a day on the water with Hundley's Guide Service is more than just fishing, it's an adventure. Whether you're looking to battle with hard-fighting stripers, tangle with aggressive hybrids, or land a monster catfish, we've got you covered. The fish are calling, and we're ready to answer. Give us a shout and let's get your next fishing trip on the calendar. Trust me, the only thing you'll regret is not doing it sooner. We went out with Hundley’s guide service on 3/30 at Benbrook lake. They have a nice boat for getting around and was well equipped for fishing. They tried their best get us on some fish, but the weather wasn’t cooperating with us. We still managed to put a few fish (hybrid, crappie, Striper and catfish) in the boat. Even though we didn’t limit, we had a good time and learned a few new things too!

Striped bass are a favorite among our guests. These powerful fish typically range from 20-40 pounds, though some real monsters can hit 70 pounds or more. You'll find stripers cruising near structures like reefs, sandbars, and dropoffs, often within casting distance of shore. They love moving water and cooler temperatures. Spring and fall are prime seasons as the bass migrate along the coast. Stripers put up an impressive fight and make excellent eating with their sweet, flaky meat. Early morning and dusk are ideal times to target them. I like to use live bait like herring or eels to entice bites. For artificial lures, try swimming plugs that mimic baitfish. A local trick: fish the tide changes when stripers are most active feeding. Whether you're after a trophy fish or just want to tangle with a hard-pulling striper, these bass offer an exciting challenge for anglers of all levels. Their annual migrations make for some incredible fishing when conditions align just right.
